With a prism measurement, we carefully assess how your eyes are positioned in relation to each other and how they work together. We identify any deviations in eye alignment and binocular coordination and, when indicated, determine the appropriate prism correction.

When can a prism measurement be beneficial?

A problem with the coordination between the eyes is not always immediately noticeable. You may function well for years while your eyes are working harder than necessary to keep the two images properly aligned and combined. This can result in symptoms such as:

• Double vision – seeing two images of the same object.
• Tired or strained eyes – especially when reading, using a screen for extended periods, or concentrating for a long time.
• Headaches – for example, after prolonged reading or computer use.
• Difficulty focusing – the image may not remain clear and comfortable.
• Difficulty with depth perception – such as judging distances accurately.
• Discomfort during prolonged visual tasks – with the eyes becoming tired more quickly.
