I have been happily working in the optical industry for 25 years now, including 15 years as the owner of Ponsioen Optiek together with my wife, Chantal. We started the store on November 27th, 2010.

My passion primarily lies in eye examinations, aiming to achieve the highest possible visual acuity. This also includes binocular tests and prism measurements. Additionally, I enjoy advising and fitting frames and contact lenses, as well as managing myopia (myopia management). I am also a practical trainer for future Opticians and Contact Lens Specialists.

Every day is a joy to work together with our team to improve better vision.

After completing all required training and gaining many years of experience in the optical industry, it was time for a new challenge: opening my own store. With the founding of Ponsioen Optiek, that dream became a reality.

My passion is to practice the optical profession exactly as we envision it: with attention to detail, craftsmanship, and personal style. From precise eye examinations to perfectly fitting eyewear. I also greatly value the technical side of the profession, working in the workshop where glasses are crafted with care and precision.

In 2022, a second business was added to this journey: Dutch Planner Company. Through this company, my creativity and organizational passion come together in designing stylish and practical planners that help people bring structure and clarity to their daily lives.

After many years in the jewelry industry, I made the switch to Ponsioen Optiek in 2015. I was looking for a new challenge, and I found it!

Advising people in choosing new glasses is enjoyable and not too different from my previous job, where I helped people select jewelry. After all, glasses are a piece of jewelry for the face.

My passion for fashion and art is reflected in my choice of frames. My favorite brand is Lamarca Eyewear. These frames are of exceptionally high quality and feature unique prints and beautiful color schemes.
